"Abed" Albert Hagar was born in Lebanon. From an early age, he expressed a true talent for music: Abed longed to compose and sing. But as often happens, his father overlooked the incredible gift his son was born with. However, Abed persisted in cultivating his musical talent, forming his own band and singing in many places during his adolescence years.

Abed was a great business visionary and a successful businessman. His dedication and persistence allowed him to successfully venture in the restaurant and property business, as well as other initiatives.

In spite of his financial success, what truly satisfied his professional ambition was to compose the melody and lyrics to a song. His face projected a very special, unique and particular rejoicing because, through music, he could express his feelings from the heart.

Thanks to his noble and pure sentiment, Abed wrote more than 1000 songs, most of them with love lyrics, and others with contemporary rock sounds.

In 2008, Abed’s vision was once more evident in achieving the combination of his influences, life experiences, dreams and origins, all in a musical project - which goes without saying, will serve as his most important life legacy: Abed, inspired again by a strange but magical emotional touch, achieved the perfect fusion between Gypsy and Arabic genres.

Abed’s effort and inspiration gave birth to the project entitled "The Gipsy Man Singing from the Middle East" with Gypsy artist Mario Reyes. In this enchanting album, composed with exotic rhythms, passionate lyrics and pure Gypsy/Arabic essence, Abed transmitted his Arab culture, his Gypsy love and knowledge and his experiences with Hispanic sentiments and the Castilian language.

Due to his great determination, Abed carried out the production of this album, which to this day has been released throughout the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. Many of the songs included in "Mario Reyes The Gipsy Man Singing from the Middle East" album, are currently part of Telemundo’s new soap opera soundtrack "El Clon." This was also one of Abed’s dreams, as composer and producer... A dream he wasn’t able to see come true in his lifetime, since Abed left us without prior notice, on December 26, 2009.

We dedicate this project to Albert Hagar "Abed" and ask him to continue guiding us from heaven to help us find the appropriate path for each one of his songs and achieve what he always wanted: that his music’s destiny would have a heart…
